Decided to try out this toothpaste imported from Thailand simply because it contained Spirulina. It's basically a blue-green algae with several benefits.
This Herbal Toothpaste comes in a 2-pack. One for Morning use and one for Nighttime use.
Shipping is expensive @ $14 for 6 tubes.
The Green Tube is "Morning Fresh". Obviously for Morning use. Contains the following active ingredients:
"Guave Leaf extract, Aloe vera powder, Clove Oil, Camphor, Spirulina powered and silica.
The Blue Tube is "Sweet Dream". And of course, is for nighttime use. Contains the following active ingredients:
" Guave Leaf extract, Alow vera powder, Clove oil, Spirulina powder, Echincea and silica.
As you can see, it's mostly natural ingredients. The tube doesn't list the inactive ingredients.
Anyone care to explain why these imported products contains natural healthy ingredients, while most Name Brand American made products contains a bunch of chemicals, most of which I can't even pronounce. Several of them are made with Propylene Glycol. The same chemicals used to make radiator fluid.
The directions indicates that a pea sized amount should be used and after brushing, leave it in the mouth for at least 30 seconds to let the 'herbal ingredients' absorbed into the gums.
Update: 7/10/11 Not sure if I got use to it or maybe the natural ingredients gave my system a "shock", but for some reason, it's not as bad as the first initial use.
Smell: The smell it like walking into a Chinese Herbal Medicine shop.
Texture: White Paste
This toothpaste is refreshing and has more of 'adult' taste to it. That's the only way I can explain it. Smells great too.
Smell: Wow. Compared to the Green Tube, this tooth gel smells wonderful. "Sweet Dream" is actually a perfect way to describe the smell. Very calming and actually smells great. Even better than any Domestic Brand tooth paste I've used.

Morning Fresh
Taste: The taste is strong, minty and pretty bad. LOL I'm guessing the taste and smell is from the Camphor ingredient. After brushing, you can actually feel the "freshness" 5 minutes after. Some people may refer to is as "aftertaste". Sweet Dream
Taste: n/a - Taste a bit like the Sparkles kids toothpaste, but not as sweet. I remember when I ran out of toothpaste and had to use the Sparkles toothpaste. I was disgusting! It was like brushing my teeth with sugar. This toothpaste is refreshing and has more of 'adult' taste to it. That's the only way I can explain it. Smells great too.
