More proof that Republicans are mentally ill.   Hey, you have to be a fucking idiot to vote Republicans when you make "middle-class" wages.  (anything under 1 million a year).   Jokes aside, this is very disturbing and a very tragic story.  If you don't like the current administration, you either vote for someone else or move to another country.  Being that he was a Republicans, he should have just moved his entire family to Israel.

Albert Peterson feared Obama will be re-elected in November (and he probably will), so he did something horrific. He took the lives of his wife and children before killing himself because his fear of the current president drove him to the boiling point of his already blatant paranoid insanity. The family was found shot dead on Tuesday and has been reported as your average, run-of-the-mill murder-suicide in a family setting. A person close to the family revealed to sources, however, that hatred of President Barack Obama drove Albert Peterson to shoot his two sons and wife dead before turning the gun on himself.

This is absolutely tragic and something that loved ones have only partially expected. Peterson was known to have battled depression for quite some time, and those close to him have even believed that he'd one day kill himself. They just didn't realize that he'd also kill two innocent children and their mother in the process—all because of some idiotic political frame of mind. It's a shame that this man's paranoia and extreme depression pushed him over the brink of reason, but one has to wonder if this story will be used as an example of the political climate by attention-hungry pundits

Wow, only in America. Let me get this straight. We have 9 stupid Americans (jurors) who are clueless about patent laws, laws in general and most of whom probably didn't even want to be there in the first place (jury duty), decides on a billion dollar lawsuit.

Apple has been suing Samsung all over the world and has lost at every attempt. But here in the US, Apple wins. This has nothing to to do with what Samsung did, but how some Americans are just ignorant and are living in a bubble.

London 2012 Opening Ceremony a HUGE let down

I just watched the London Olympic Opening Ceremony Live via stream. Let's just say it was the most uninspiring performance I have ever witnessed.

For an event that only takes place once every 4 years, you would think the hosting City / Country would do something to make it memorable.

I understand that Beijing set the bar a little too high. No one can top what Beijing did in 2008. But, what London did just 2 hours ago was a crime against Humanity.

They should be banned from all future Olympic Hosting. The really spent 15 billion on this? I guess the producers pocketed 14.5 billion?

The message was clear. If someone puts on an amazing show, don't try to top it. No point in trying. Just give up and put your head down in shame.

Everything was just dark and gloomy. The performers themselves looked bored to death.

I just watched it an hour ago and can't remember what I just watched. Can anyone name one thing that was spectacular about the opening ceremony? They are claiming how London's opening ceremony would be more "personable", but let me ask you this. What's more personable? Being bored to death or being wowed and entertained.

I understand China did some CGI work for their "firework" show, maybe London should have just CGI the entire event.

Brazilian president Dilma Roussef has given approval to build a hydroelectric plant – the third largest in the world - at Belo Monte on the Xingu River in Brazil‘s northern Amazonian region.

The region is currently home to huge local communities, totalling 40,000 people, the majority of whom will be flooded out when water levels eventually eradicate 400,000 hectares of ancient forest and towns.

Despite this, and despite significant protest from the tribal communities in Western courts – no mean feat, mind you – approval was passed without the slightest resounding outcry from the world.

It pisses me off that globally we care more about stopping Internet Copyright laws like SOPA and Protect-IP than the lives of 40,000 human beings‘ homes in the name of business profits.

The Amazon region should belong to the world, as the Internet does, and the world should get pissed off at things threatening it just as if your local government signed papers that meant they could build a highway through your house whenever they felt like.

Additionally, the rule would change the way tomato paste is credited, making it more difficult for pizza to be considered a serving of vegetables.

Papa John’s has been on the receiving end of some major backlash after an Asian woman who recently paid a visit to the pizza restaurant tweeted a photo of a receipt that had “lady chinky eyes” printed on it where her name was supposed to go.

Minhee Cho, a Korean-American from New York City, posted the photo of the receipt with the racial slur on it to her Twitter page, where it was quickly retweeted by hundreds of people.

Within hours, the photo had become viral with nearly 30,000 views.

Meanwhile, a Papa John’s manager who simply identified himself as “Jerome” (for obvious reasons) blames Cho for the negative publicity the company has received from the incident.

“It’s affecting how we work,” Jerome complained to the New York Post. “This is a place of business. I truly don’t think it’s fair what she did; it’s just crazy … I think the lady put it out there just to get some attention — some people like that type of attention. I truly don’t think it’s fair. It’s been taking up all our time. It’s been very disruptive.”

Afghanistan’s first major oil exploration contract will see state-owned China National Petroleum Corporation develop three oil fields in the relatively peaceful north of the country along the Amu Darya river.

Under the deal, signed in Kabul by Afghan mining minister Waheedullah Shahrani and CNPC president Lu Gong Xun, Afghanistan will take 70 percent of the net profits, and the Chinese oil giant will pay 15 percent corporation tax.

“This will have enormous benefits for Afghanistan,” Shahrani told reporters after the signing.

Sudan asks to deal with China in yuan and pounds: central bank

Sudan is in talks with China to see if the two countries can do business in Sudanese pounds and Chinese yuan, rather than U.S. dollars, Sudan’s central bank governor said on Wednesday.

The Sudanese pound has weakened sharply against the dollar on the black market since South Sudan seceded in July, taking about three-quarters of the country’s roughly 500,000 barrels per day of oil output -- a major source of foreign currency.

China has been a major investor in both African countries in areas including construction and oil.

“We have submitted an official request to China to deal with them in Sudanese pounds and Chinese yuan, and it is possible that after a short while we could exit finally from the dollar,” Central Bank Governor Mohamed Kheir al-Zubeir told reporters.

“The dollar has become weak and is deteriorating.”

He said Sudan’s central bank was discussing the issue with China’s central bank, but did not give a timeline or other details about the proposed arrangement.

“We believe that very soon China will become the number one economic power in the world,” Zubeir said.

The loss of oil revenues has helped to drive up the cost of food and other imports, fuelling inflation and biting an economy already hit hard by decades of war, mismanagement and U.S. trade sanctions.

Settlers attack carol singers near Nablus



BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- Settlers attacked a Palestinian choir bus returning from a carol concert in Nablus on Saturday evening, choristers told Ma'an.

The singers, from Bethlehem Bible college, said five men attacked them on a quiet road outside of the northern West Bank city.

"A rock smashed through the window, and glass shattered everywhere inside," chorister Saleem Anfous told Ma'an, adding that none of the 25 carol singers was injured.

"We kept driving and starting singing to cheer ourselves up and encourage the choir members," he said.

"Tomorrow we will continue our carol tour of the West Bank in Jenin, using the same road, and we are afraid. But we are trying to convince the families that God will protect us."

WASHINGTON (AFP) - The United States said Wednesday it would like China to explain why it needs an aircraft carrier amid broader US concerns about Beijing's lack of transparency over its military aims.

"We would welcome any kind of explanation that China would like to give for needing this kind of equipment," State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told reporters when asked whether the carrier would raise regional tensions.

"This is part of our larger concern that China is not as transparent as other countries. It's not as transparent as the United States about its military acquisitions, about its military budget," she said.

"And we'd like to have the kind of open, transparent relationship in military-to-military affairs," Nuland said.

"In our military-to-military relations with many countries around the world, we have the kind of bilateral dialogue where we can get quite specific about the equipment that we have and its intended purposes and its intended movements," she said.

But China and the United States are "not at that level of transparency" to which the two nations aspire, Nuland added.
