Check out this anti-Obama bumper sticker.
"yes, I am an sob?". They even got the title wrong.

Not that I support Barack Obama (I voted for Ron Paul in 2008). But wow, these Republicans spend all their time hating everyone instead of supporting their Presidential Candidate. Not only that, their grammar sucks.
Home schooling at it's finest. You can't expect parents who hate Democrats with a passion to also excel in 2nd grade in 2nd grade English.
And these are the idiots who want to cut spending on Education. Seems like we need to fund education, don't you think?
I'm not surprised at all. Republicans are mostly what I call posers. These are the type of people big Government love. Easily manipulated, low IQ, stupid little sheeps. They wear "fuck the 99%" t-shirts and work at Walmart. Interesting.

The use of "an" in that sentence is grammatically acceptable. Check the Chicago Manual of Style with reference to "a" or "an" when used with an acronym.
@Anonymous
Also, look at the title of the bumper sticker where they used "and" instead of "a".
"I am and SOB" lol
