Kate agreed to visit Alaska for her TLC show Kate Plus 8 - but it was clear from the time she hit the ground that she would not be a happy camper.

Kate Gosselin’s much-hyped Alaskan camping trip with Sarah Palin turned into a nightmare when [Kate] suffered a diva-like meltdown - and stormed off despite Sarah’s please.
The reality show star stayed at the campsite for just two hours of the planned two-day adventure - and left amid an avalanche of insults, complaints and tears, the Enquirer learned exclusively…
On July 26, Kate plus her 8 and a full TLC film crew arrived at the Palin’s Wasilla home. Kate decided right then she didn’t want to go camping because it was raining.
The plan was for the Palin family - including the ex-governor, her father and brother - to give Kate and her brood a taste of the Alaskan wilderness. They would fly on seaplanes to the remote site for activities, including fishing, panning for gold and the two-night campout.
Katie’s bodyguard Steve Neild persuaded her to get on the seaplane to fly to the campsite, but she was complaining the entire time - about the weather, the food and rustic atmosphere, revealed the insider.
At the campgrounds, the mega-mom’s mood turned even more sour when she saw the bathroom facilities. “They handed her a bucket with a toilet seat on top,” said the insider. “Kate said, ‘What the hell am I going to do with this!’ “Then she burst into tears and started moaning that she wanted to leave.
“When it was time to eat, Kate opened the cooler prepared for her and the children and three another fit when she saw prepackaged mini meals. “There were tiny pieces of cheese and processed meats along with crackers and a few condiments. “She said ‘My kids can’t eat this crap, they need a real meal! Then she started griping - in front of Sarah - that the ex-governor’s food was better than hers.
“Sarah’s meal was grilled hamburgers and hotdogs!”
Kate was also disgusted by the primitive conditions at the campgrounds and let everyone know it. “I can’t have my kids stay in a dirty place like this,” she fumed, according to the close source. Sarah was shocked but bit her lip, said the source. “She said ‘Come on, give it a little time, it’ll be fun, we’ll make it fun.’”
While the stunned TV crew apologized profusely to the Palins, a cabin with modern conveniences was arranged for Kate and the kids….
“Selfish Kate ditched the Palins, who spent the night in their tents,” said the close source. And the next morning, everyone flew back to the family’s Wasilla home, a day earlier than planned.

Just as we all predicted. Could tell by her attitude at the airport that it did not go well. She was still pissed.
If this was filmed, they we know why she only stayed for 2 hours.

hmmmm PLEASE PLEASE tell me they filmed her meltdown?? What a selfish person she is. What a great way to show your kids how to treat people who take time out of their WAY more busy schedule than Kate will ever have. I somewhat don't believe the food issue thing. How many handlers does Kate have? At least ONE would have told the Palins that 'Kate's kids eat organic' things. or she would have brought her own. This meltdown is HUGE. I don't care if you don't like Sarah Palin or not some one is bound to ask her about this outburst by Kate. Can't wait to hear her comments.
I doubt TLC would air it, unless they really want to get rid of Kate and are sick of her.
Tlc will air it only after they're done with kate. Ratings gold! Just try and imagine how muuch of this they have from every season. Both kate and jon were very stupid when signing the original contract and tlc owns all footage.
Pretty sure they're done with her. No one watch the "special" that aired on Wednesday.
So just what were the ratings from this last week? Last time we heard what they were the next day after, but not this time.How does a person find out what they were?

But contrary to popular speculation, this historic meeting of America's Two Most Polarizing Moms will not be seen in one of those "Kate Plus Eight" specials TLC has been running, in which Kate takes her kids to various places to show them a "good time."
Instead, TLC President Eileen O'Neill told TV critics attending Summer TV Press Tour 2010 that the Palins "graciously shared their Alaska with the Gosselin family," and that campaign trip will be part of an episode of Palin's new TLC series, "Sarah Palin's Alaska."
The reason why Kate left the camp site early is because there wasn't a private bathroom.
Only a bucket with a toilet seat.
And since Kate pees standing up, there was no wan in hell Kate would want anyone to find out her secret.
Is anyone surprised that Kate is starting to bite the TLC hand that feeds her? She works for TLC and then she pulls this diva nonsense on the camping trip which is basically like not doing her job. I wonder if the L.A. stop was so that TLC could remind her of her contractual obligations - a.k.a. STFU and do your job Kate. TLC has been good to her with pay and freebies and I'm sure Kate is on their shitlist right now.
Not to mention all of the travel expenses for the Palin family, the Gosselins and the crew. This camping trip was probably in the works for some time and I'm sure it was difficult to coordinate with Sarah Palin's busy schedule. And then Kate comes along and shuts it down because she is being a diva. What did she expect-it was camping. Bring along some dry shampoo and wet wipes and go with it. It's only for a couple of days.
“It’s become clear it takes a special individual to thrive in Alaska,” says network president Eileen O’Neill. That sounds like a slam on Kate. So we take it that Kate's not special enough to thrive in Alaska.
I wonder how much longer TLC will put up with Kate.

Yep, the timing is a little fishy.
On second thought, wasn't this story published in the National Enq. Magazine 1st? How long does i take to publish that magazine? If more than a week, then I doubt that the story was used to divert attention away.
But who knows.
anyone know what the ratings were the other night? I didn't even know there was a special on LMAO! I hope TLC tires of her before the end of the year and shows ALL of her meltdowns from the last 4+ seasons. I would DEFINATELY watch that!
