Kate Goseslin thinking she would do something good for the Heritage Foundation, showed up and did what she was paid to do. For about 10 minutes. Then she took off with Steve to their "production trailer". LOL
"Jon and Kate Plus 8" star Kate Gosselin may be proving herself to be quite charitable, but that doesn't mean that her fans are all satisfied with her actions. At Saturday night's "Stars, Stripes and Skates" event benefiting The Heritage Foundation, Kate made an appearance and was good in the sense of signing autographs, meeting fans, and giving a few smiles for the cameras.
However, as the night wore on it reportedly became clear that Kate was there to do a job and then hightail it out of Danbury Arena. After introducing one of the night's acts on the ice, Us Weekly is reporting that Kate, alongside her bodyguard (and oft-rumored boyfriend) Steve Neild, took off immediately for the production trailer and away from her crowd of fans. As Kate left, the Us article claims that a young fan asked if she was already leaving (since the show had more or less just began), and that she quickly replied with a "yes, we are" and a shrug.
Of course, it is admirable for Kate (or any celebrity) to do charity work, but did Kate really do enough in this case? She owes her "Jon and Kate Plus 8" fans the world for keeping the show on the air for so long, especially through some of the recent troubles surrounding her separation / upcoming divorce from Jon.
Should she have done more, such as stay around for a few performances and sign some more autographs, or was a mere appearance enough? That is up for the fans to decide, and I look forward to reading your thoughts and comments below. "Jon and Kate Plus 8" will air a new episode Monday night on TLC.
