Just a place where bloggers and commenters can share an open discussion on all things related to the Gosselins.

This blog was created to expose the spins and lies shared by the media and by several individuals who continue to spread filth and garbage for their own self-interests.

This blog will expose those who continue to spread lies as "truth" and those who base their beliefs and support for one individual based on those lies.

Texas Quints to replace Quints by Surprise?

Bump! Texas Quints (The Wilkinson's) will air tonight. The Joneses are no more.

Starting Oct 11th, Quints by Surprise (The Joneses) to be replaced by Texas Quints (The Wilkinson's)? Not exactly sure if Quints by Surprise are airing on a different time or date. Nevertheless, it does look like TLC is moving on.

Kate Plus 8 'may' appear in more "specials" (winter, spring or summer break?) but for now its gone. Twist of Kate is now scheduled for a December release. Still not sure if Quints by Surprise or Texas Quints will be as 'popular' as the Original J&K Series.

As for Texas Quints and Quints by Surprise, both shows seems to be a "series specials", just like Kate Plus 8.

Texas Quints: Birthday Madness - TV-PG

The Wilkinson's plan a party to celebrate the Quints' third birthday but bad weather could put a damper on everything. The Quints go wild when Jayson tries babysitting solo. Rachelle fears her cake and Jayson's petting zoo could both be major disasters.

Visit their website here: http://wilkinsonquints.org/
See their youtube videos here: Wilkinsonquint's Channel (W Q + 2) It rhymes.

From what I can see, one of the girls (doing the Old Spice Parody) is a pretty good actress. She did mumble through a few lines, but it was a pretty good parody.

This family is a lot more down to earth than the Joneses. I like them and actually think they will be able to handle whatever comes their way.

Anonymous said... [Reply]

Do the Joneses seem 'fake' to you? Not genuine?

I think all these family are in one way or another 'emulating' the Gosselins.

The Wilkinson's are another family claiming to want "Just one more". But they don't explain what they did to get "Multiples". Fertility treatment? Likely. Natural causes? Highly unlikely.

Yes, the Joneses do seem fake to me.

You're right about the Wilkinson's, they are just another family trying to cash in on their kids. I just see them as more sincere.

I think TLC will film a bunch of families in an attempt to find one that pulled in the viewers like Jon and Kate.

Geez, how many more families are out there with baby/toddler quints or sextuplets who are willing to pimp out their kids on tv?

Please! No more!!! lol

I have not been impressed with the Jones's constant whining over money and losing thier home. The babies though cute are at the same stage we have seen alot of mutliples and I'm tired of the crying, complaining about expenses etc. What more can the show of the Jones's? The Texas Quints at least are older, 3 year sold so they will be talking and maybe going to preschool. I still like the Hayes's the best. They didn't paint a perfect pciture that all multiple birth are picture perfect. The kids being older were just more enjoyable to watch. If they are only going to keep one Texas based Quint family I hope it is the new one with the older kids.

^ Whatever happened to the Hayes?

Jessie said... [Reply]

They're not being replaced, the Jones show was only ever scheduled for 10 episodes. (The Carpio show has been greenlit for 8 episodes, and JK+8 was 8 episodes in its first season as well, so it seems pretty standard). As far as I can tell the Texas Quints is only two specials, not a series.

@jibberjabbers

What do you mean they're only "claiming" to want just one more? Planning to have higher order multiples is impossible. Have you checked the stats? The odds of getting pregnant at ALL with technologies like IVF are low, low, low. Less than 30% usually. Within that, the odds of twins is 25%. Triplets is 2%. So you can understand how astronomically small the odds of quints or sextuplets are. Like 0.00001%.

How could you "plan" to beat those odds? You sound like you think someone can just walk in, and bam, walk out with quadruplets if they so desire.

Anonymous said... [Reply]

@Jessie

Yes, but when you take "fertility treatments" AND go through IVF you INCREASE your chance of having multiples.

Sure it's "hard" to beat the odds. That's why there aren't that MANY couples with "multiples".

Using Kate as an example, she went through the same process twice. And TWICE, she had multiples.

Kate was even Hospitalized for "overactive ovaries".

@jibberjabbers

"That's why there aren't that MANY couples with "multiples"."

Well you're at least right about this one. Out of the hundreds and thousands of couples who have used reproductive technology, only a HANDFUL have ever ended up with higher order multiples. That's exactly my point - planning on becoming one of that handful is about as realistic as "planning" to be hit by lightning or eaten by a shark. Sure, it happens, but the odds are it won't (even if you go float in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, or, you know, use IVF).

Anonymous said... [Reply]

But when you abuse the system, like Kate did, you increase your chances of having multiples. And since Kate was hospitalized for overactive ovaries, this is evidence that Kate was trying for "more than one".

Did Kate beat the odds? Yes.

And these other couples on TLC were probably doing the same.

The Joneses did. Going through IUI & taking Fertility drugs (clomid) increased their chance of having multiples.

With IVF you have more control than you would have with IUI.

Both Kate and Casey went through IUI and took fertility drugs. Which increased their chances of having multiples.

Regarding Kate's overactive ovaries. It was stated at the Gosselin's web-page (sixgosselins.com) before it was deleted.

Here are some cliff-notes:

* Since she was a child, Kate had a feeling that she would have a hard time getting pregnant.

* After the twins were born, Jon was happy with the family. Kate wasn't. She wanted multiples. They had the opportunity to adopt a Korean baby. But, since it was just 1 baby, Kate wasn't interested.

* Kate then decided to go through fertility treatment again. Her original doctor refused to help Kate after discovering the "scam" of Kate wanting MULTIPLES.

* Kate went to see a new doctor and was then Hospitalized for over-active ovaries. Over-active ovaries?

* Kate was now pregnant with multiples. The doctor suggested "reduction" but Kate refused.

* After getting the news of 6 babies, Jon and Kate went to church to tell everyone.

@jibberjabbers

I think you have some inaccuracies in there. You say "Jon was happy with the family. Kate wasn't. She wanted multiples." Where has Kate ever said she wanted multiples, rather than a singleton?

What is your source for the doctor refusing treatment because he was onto the multiple "scam"?

Kate never had the opportunity to adopt a "Korean baby". It was actually a half African American baby born to a patient under her care as a nurse.

Hyperovulation is a normal side effect of IUI. It doesn't indicate that Kate "went a little crazy with the fertility pills", the pills are prescribed by a doctor and can't just be taken however the patient wants. Also, she was hospitalised with overactive ovaries AFTER the sextuplets had been conceived, not before.

My source was the SixGosselin website. The above was taken from the "About us" page. I'm pretty sure someone has copy the content. I'll try to find it. Like I said, the above was a cliff note from the site.

It has since been deleted.

I hope you do, I'm interested to read it.

Like I said, I'm a little dubious how accurate the cliff notes are.

^ Can't find any copies. But it's pretty damn accurate. You can 'google' bits and pieces of those cliff notes.

Here someone else talking about the adoption.

---------------
http://reality-tv.lovetoknow.com/Jon_and_Kate_Plus_Eight

Kate and Jon first met at a picnic in 1997 when Jon worked at a hotel. Kate just graduated from a nursing program and two years later they married. At first, Kate was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome, which made it appear that Kate could not have children. So with fertility treatments and intrauterine insemination, Kate became pregnant with twins. The girls, Cara and Mady were born in October of 2000.

Three years after that, Kate wanted to have another child, but Jon wasn't so sure. They thought about adopting because a Korean baby was available when Kate was working as a nurse. Instead, Jon and Kate returned to fertility treatments. This worked again and they soon found out that she was going to have six babies.

Anonymous said... [Reply]

Here is another..

The Gosselins' desire to start a family was impeded by infertility. Kate underwent medical testing and was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome. The couple then turned to fertility treatments. In February 2000, Kate became pregnant with twins. Cara Nicole was born six minutes before her sister Madelyn Kate on October 8, 2000.[13]

They began thinking of having more children and, according to Kate, a biracial infant of a teenage girl named Jamie became available to adopt while Kate was an obstetrics nurse. They decided not to adopt baby Jeremiah, as he was later named, but instead returned to fertility treatment.[13] In October 2003, Kate became pregnant again. Five weeks later, (after being hospitalized for over-stimulated ovaries) at the initial ultrasound, the doctor announced that there were six sacs with seven yolks (embryos). According to Kate, this was emotional news for them. The doctor suggested selective reduction, but the couple was strongly against it.[13]

Yes, my points remain exactly. The "biracial" baby is African American, not Korean (she extrapolates more on the story in the first book, which is just an extended version of the "our story"). The mother of the baby was white but the father was black.

It never says she wanted higher order multiples. "Jon agreed to let us return to try and have another baby. He saw just how badly I wanted to be a mommy again." Note the singular baby, not babies.

And it clearly says that she was already 5 weeks pregnant with the sextuplets when she was hospitalized for overstimulated ovaries.

So no, I don't think your cliff notes are accurate.

jj@thelyingchannel said... [Reply]

You read it incorrectly. It clearly states she was pregnant 5 weeks AFTER she was hospitalized for over-active ovaries.

-----------
Five weeks later, (after being hospitalized for over-stimulated ovaries) at the initial ultrasound, the doctor announced that there were six sacs with seven yolks (embryos).
-----------

And the baby was Mix Korean. According to several sources. No where did it say African.

See Source:
http://reality-tv.lovetoknow.com/Jon_and_Kate_Plus_Eight

They thought about adopting because a Korean baby was available when Kate was working as a nurse.

------

And of course she NEVER stated that she wanted multiples. But you have to read between the lines. And since you couldn't even comprehend the (5 weeks statement correctly).......

Put it all together. She went through IUI and was hospitalized for over-active ovaries.

5 weeks after she was hospitalized, the doctor declared there were six sacks and 7 yolks.

WHY would she be hospitalized for over active ovaries AFTER she was pregnant?

jj@thelyingchannel said... [Reply]

Hyper-Active Ovaries is a side effect of Clomid.

-----------
The risks and side effects of IUI include abdominal cramps, spotting, or infection from introducing bacteria through the vagina.

Also, the use of fertility drugs may increase your risk for multiple pregnancies and developing ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS). In addition, some men may find it difficult to provide a sperm sample on demand.

Jessie said... [Reply]

*sigh*

Your "multiple sources" regarding the biracial baby are incorrect. They probably assumed that the "biracial" baby mentioned on Wikipedia was Korean, just like you did. The only baby they considered adopting was African American. There's an entire chapter on it in the first book.

"I was assigned a teenage girl who was laboring to deliver her first baby. Her distraught mother disclosed that in addition to all of the obvious shocking revelations of the day, was the disturbing fact that the family would never accept a baby fathered by a black man. I knew this fact embarrassed her not because she personally struggled with the race of her grandchild, but because of the bigotry that ran deep in her lineage. Seemingly grasping at straws during this process, she even alluded that maybe I would be the perfect person to adopt their unexpected, unplanned-for baby."

So if you want to use their "about us" page as your primary source - even reading between the lines - then I recommend you look at everything they've said and written because stuff written on random webpages is not always accurate. If you want to argue this stuff out the basic facts are really, really important.

About the 5 weeks statement, I was correct. The sextuplets were conceived in October 2003 and she was hospitalized with overactive ovaries November 2003. They found out the sextuplets existed around Thanksgiving of that year. And yes, I'm aware hyperactive ovaries are a side effect of clomid.

Anonymous said... [Reply]

Again, I provided sources. You did not.

You have zero credibility. 1st you claimed IUI caused overactive ovaries, NOW you agree that Clomid causes overactive ovaries.

Now, if Kate was already pregnant, WHY would she take the pill?

IUI has several side effects. Overactive ovaries are not one of them. Clomid causes overactive ovaries. And according that he source I used, she was pregnant 5 weeks AFTER she was hospitalized for overactive ovaries.

Regarding the African baby, can you provide a source? Maybe even scanning or taking a picture of the page that indicated it?

Also, you have to take into consideration and the About us page from sixgosselins has CHANGED several times. And now it has been removed.

Jessie said... [Reply]

"You have zero credibility. 1st you claimed IUI caused overactive ovaries, NOW you agree that Clomid causes overactive ovaries."

These two statements are not mutually exclusive. Hyperactive ovaries can be the result of multiple interventions, including Clomid (which is specifically designed to stimulate ovulation) and more generally, the drugs associated with IUI (which may or may not include Clomid).

"Now, if Kate was already pregnant, WHY would she take the pill?"

What are you talking about? Kate was injected with drugs to make her ovulate (since she has Polycistic Ovarian Syndrome, she never ovulates without intervention), not given a pill. The hospitalization with hyperstimulated ovaries was not caused by taking a pill, it was caused by her hormone levels raising through the roof during the early pregnancy with sextuplets.

Thanks for those pictures. So the reason Kate didn't adopt the baby was because it he wasn't Asian?

Jessie said... [Reply]

*sigh*

If that's how you want to read between the lines, I can't stop you. At least we have some basic facts in the debate now.

Anonymous said... [Reply]

Yes, thank for you that. I need to pay attention to some of the sources I use.

In any case, Kate did in fact say she was into "Little China dolls" and was glad that 'her' kids looked more like Jon. She also wished she was Korean.

Looks like kate kids acting up big time

^ Sure looks like the kids aren't happy for some reason. Kate of course is trying to fake some affection. Most of the kids aren't having it.

I watchedthe Texas quints last night and a bigger bunch of screaming brats I have never seen! WHO wants to watch that crap at 10pm at night! I would like some peace and quiet at that time! This certainly wouldn't replace the Jones Quints or any of the other multiples shows for me! I won't watch it again!

Haha! Good to know. Maybe this is why TLC only listed 2 Episodes for them.

Umm no..The reason was probably the fact that he was A BOY! You know a gross, always dirty, uncommunicative, hard to pottytrain, difficult, incapable of following instructions BOY.(all the adjectives came from Kate's mouth during seasons 1-5 of j&K+8 as I am sure you know)
